Mesotherapy

Whether it's via serums, facials or expensive lotions and potions, we're all searching for that elusive 'lit-from-within' skin glow. The latest treatment promising to transform skin from lacklustre and dull to a bright beacon of dew is mesotherapy. Mesotherapy can be used both for medical conditions and for aesthetic diseases. In fact, from the aesthetic point of view, mesotherapy is the most effective treatment to combat cellulite and fat deposits that accumulate in specific areas. Furthermore, it is used to achieve weight loss and facial rejuvenation.

What is Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a nonsurgical, permanent method for fat removal, body contouring and is also used for hair loss and skin ageing that uses injections of vitamins, enzymes, hormones and plant extracts to rejuvenate and tighten skin, as well as remove excess fat. The technique uses very fine needles to deliver a series of injections into the middle layer (mesoderm) of skin. The idea behind mesotherapy is that it corrects underlying issues like poor circulation and inflammation that cause skin damage.

Today, mesotherapy is used to:

  • remove fat in areas like the stomach, thighs, buttocks, hips, legs, arms and face
  • reduce cellulite
  • fade wrinkles and lines
  • tighten loose skin
  • recontour the body
  • lighten pigmented skin
  • treat alopecia, a condition that causes hair loss

What are the benefits of Mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy can instantly improve dull, tired looking skin and superficial wrinkles but can also help to improve sluggish blood circulation, aiding the body to flush out ageing toxins. This treatment can also be used to address pigmentation problems, treat acne scarring and be combined to enhance the effects of other aesthetic treatments such as Botox or fillers.

What can I expect after my Mesotherapy treatment?

It is recommended that you have some time to recover after your Mesotherapy treatment. You will experience some superficial swelling, which will settle within 24-48 hours. Although rare, other possible side effects include the appearance of some small needle marks which will also resolve within a few days. Treatment around the eye area may take longer to settle – possibly 5-7 days.
